ELECTRONIC SECURITY INFORMATION

Life Care Services (LCS) is dedicated to continually protecting all client’s/individual’s privacy and personal information. This section of LCS’ Privacy Policy is an overview of how LCS electronically handles personal information.

LCS’ network is secured 24/7, 365 days a year in one of many ways, including but not limited to, filtering routers; firewall protection by SonicWALL; VIPRE anti-virus software including independent station and network scans, anti-spam e-mail security filters, and anti-malware Internet protection; and Google Postini message security services for added protection from spam and viruses. These applications are updated daily so that the newest threats are detected by LCS’ secured network. Additionally, each workstation is continually updated with product security and software updates as they are released including all Internet browsers. Each LCS employee has their own unique username and password that allows access to LCS’ server for that specific individual only and the workstation.

With these security measures implemented, information traveling over the Internet is encrypted to verify authenticity by using a constant Secured Socket Layer (SSL) connection and 128-bit encryption keys. Documents prepared electronically for distribution with personal identifying information are converted into Adobe PDF format and are further secured with the assignment of additional security settings and/or encryption passwords.

Please be aware that despite LCS’ best efforts to protect your privacy, that no security measures are impenetrable and that all clients/individuals must also be committed to keeping their systems updated with the newest security settings including using a secured browser to reduce outside vulnerabilities. In addition, assignment of challenging usernames and passwords which are changed often using a combination of letters (capital and lowercase) and numbers, will further secure systems ensuring your privacy.

LCS may change this policy at any time without notice in order to address new issues relating to your protection and privacy. The only time information will be disclosed is if LCS is legally required to do so.
